Had two different Microsoft tech guys take control of my computer to no avail. Tells me "no Nvidia hardware on this computer" No matter what: I cannot install the Nvidia drivers from their website or any other website as my computer since this update doesn't list my Nvidia GPU in device manager and neither anywhere else, do not tell me to download it from their website, it just Uninstall Intel Graphics card: Now it shows the Microsoft Basic Display Driver as my GPU. What I tried: Recover Desktop to an earlier date, GPU still gone Now I am stuck with this OS that makes my GPU disappear. But you guys installed Windows 10 on my system automatically. Now I didn't have this problem with Windows 8.1. Until, while playing video games, the gamesĬrashed and the notifications said something like "graphics driver stopped responding". My Nvidia reappeared after the Windows installation for two days. I searched for days until Windows said it had to update again and it installed three or four Nvidia display adapter drivers. My device manager shows only the Intel graphics cardĪnd not my Nvidia. My Nvidia control panel is gone and it is listing my Intel HD Graphics 4000 or so as GPU. That didn't work anymore, I now have to plug in my HDMI into the motherboard HDMI port to even get a picture. My HDMI cable was plugged into the HDMI port of my Nvidia GTX 660 to my screen. When I came back my screen started flickering until puff suddenly its gone. OK So I installed windows 10 right before I had to leave for several weeks work related. Windows 10 Nvidia/Geforce completely disappeared
When I install the Nvidia drivers btw, when it completes, I press restart and windows wont load at all, so I go to safe-mode and again using DDU to uninstall the driver.īy the way, I have 700W, so power is not the problem
Removing the GPU and putting it back (to confirm it is placed correctly).Checked if everything is connected correctly.installed the current drivers from nvidia site.using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to uninstall the previous GPU (the built-in one, didn't have a gpu before on this machine) driver.Changed the setting on the motherboard to "Main Display - PCIE" (When I do that, the BIOS just ignore this and put "CPU" back in.).(I have Asus H170M-Plus motherboard if it helps) I have i7 6700 cpu, I just bought a new GPU (GTX 1070) and installed it.Įverything seem to be ok, the led on the GPU is fine but when I plug the monitor to it it wont display anything. New GPU (1070), display is black, and windows wont load after driver update
